Photo Editor Experience
As a professional photo editor with years of experience at The Intercept, WeTransfer, BET, and most recently as the Official Photo Editor for Vice President Kamala Harris, my approach combines technical expertise with creative vision. I am skilled in photography using Sony, Nikon, and Canon equipment, and I have photographed a wide range of events, including high-level meetings, official portraits, and international assignments. My editing proficiency spans Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, and I am well-versed in Photo Mechanic, batch processing, and metadata ingestion techniques.
I work under tight deadlines, whether it's a 15-minute turnaround for publication or the Vice President’s social channels. My responsibilities have included photo research, story art, and layout, where I have collaborated with designers, editors, writers, and communication teams to help tell the message strategically. I am also well-versed in organizing contracts and documents, writing captions in AP style, and curating projects to suit the narrative and visual direction.
In addition to my technical skills, I bring a strong understanding of the storytelling power of imagery across a wide array of topics—from national security and politics to technology, criminal justice, and environmental issues. This broad expertise allows me to thoughtfully select and edit images that communicate effectively, all while maintaining a high standard of editorial integrity. My ability to think creatively and communicate clearly has allowed me to thrive in both quick-turnaround assignments and more complex, long-term projects.
